Blogger Sadness...

Or maybe I should title this post Blogger Anger...

I wrote about 1500 words of a blog post about identity and self worth last night, that I was going to edit and finish up today for posting. It was long, and I was paranoid so I hit save multiple times while I was writing it. Blogger saved it, or so it indicated, never once suggesting that anything was wrong with my connection or the post. When I opened it up this morning it had reverted to the single paragraph that I had written on Wednesday night when I first had the idea. Nothing else was there. My browser history suggests that I wasn't even logged into the site last night between 11pm and 1am (which were the times during which I was writing my 1500 words).

So, I'm led to believe that either I hallucinated the entire episode (which seems unlikely, especially since my husband remembers seeing me typing away in the blogger window at the times indicated above) or that a very untimely server error with the blogger website has eaten my 1500 words and I am now ready to curl up into the fetal position and bang my head against something solid.

Either way, sadness.

Now, instead of that blog post (which I had a really good feeling about and will be rewriting as soon as I get over the utter frustration of having to start from scratch on it) I will be giving you a brief update on life, and a few pictures from the past week.

**Heavy Sigh**

Fortunately, aside from that obnoxious blip on the radar, life has been pretty good. Blade's Edge is gaining more positive reviews and sales are slow but consistent. So that's all good. If you're interested in reading any of the Goodreads reviews you can check them out here. Also, it has earned some very positive professional reviews which is also kind of exciting (for example this one from Self-Publishing Reviews).

In addition, for any one interested I was interviewed about Blade's Edge by fellow indie author Heidi Skarie over on her website.

Ok. Done with book promotion and onto fun things that have been going on in the last couple of weeks.

1. I have started to learn to play the upright bass (that's the one that looks like an enormous violin for those who aren't familiar) and it's awesome.

2. I have spent a lot of time over the past two weeks at Festival du Voyageur listening to good music and hanging with fun people. Here are some pictures of that:

3. And Artemis is really digging this whole cold weather/snow thing.

Now it's snowing outside and it's time to go take the dog for a romp and see if that heals the frustration of the deleted post...

    1. Haha! Yes, I will have to get a shot of me playing it. Maybe I'll get my teacher to snap a shot at our next lesson. :-)

  3. I will scream long and loud in empathy with your loss of 1500 words to gremlins. I think these are an even worse batch than the ones which now necessitate about a dozen clicks to download proofs from the BrickHouse Books printing company when as late as yesterday morning only one click was required. Back to your most recent missive: those pictures of the Boyz in the Band are just amazing!

    1. Thanks, Clarinda. I'm sorry the gremlins have been attacking you as well. Here's hoping they move on with better things to do.
